The subconscious mind is a complexly working system that is not yet fully understood. However, this does not mean that we cannot explore what we already know about this system to our advantage.
You can map an action into literally any person’s subconscious mind. The question is how to do it. In order to get the desired outcome, you have to understand how maps work in this complex system.
We all have a map in our subconscious mind that determines our perception of the world and the things in it. It is based on numerous beliefs, values and emotions. For instance, you know that stealing is bad. You also know that you need to sleep and eat in order to sustain yourself.
All these elements of the system determine our thoughts, decisions and behavior. This means that if you influence the right beliefs, values and emotions, you can readily make a person do anything you want.
If someone beliefs that doing something is moral and will bring him benefits, then he will certainly do it. It is as simple as that.
The problem is that sometimes the thing you want the person to do clashes with his beliefs and values. This does not necessarily mean that you want the person to do something bad or immoral.
For instance, if you want to make a coworker of yours ask for the promotion he deserves, you may find it difficult to influence him because he is afraid of speaking to the manager.
What you need to do in this situation is to change this belief. Basically, you have to replace one piece of the map with another one.
There are different techniques for doing this, but they all have a common process. You simplify the thinking pattern and then you replace it with another one that is more effective.
