There are a lot of misconceptions about the power mind. Some people believe it is a strange force that allows some people to send subconscious messages to others and make them to what they want.
This is partially true. We all have a power mind, but most of us do not know how to use it. As a salesperson, you can learn how to use your power of the mind to influence others. This is best done through the application of covert hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP).
As a start, you have to learn how to exploit your own power mind. One of the main things to learn is how to be confident all the time. You can readily do this by attempting not to be personally affected by what your customers say and do.
I’ll explain this in more detail. People see or interpret everything around them in their own unique way. Someone may see a smile as friendly while another person can see it as mocking.
This is what you should never do in sales, if you want to persuade your customers to buy effectively. All you have to do is to ask for the reasons behind what the prospect says or does.
This gives you a unique opportunity to influence his power of the mind. Basically, it is a bit like a technical process. Instead of being affected, you turn the things the prospect says or does to patterns that influence him.
If the prospect says the product is too expensive, you can readily ask him what is affordable or what is not expensive to him. This is a powerful pattern you can use instead of just assuming in your mind that there is no way you can close the sale.
